Franklin Grant youngest brother of Henry and son of Eleanor and Joshua Grant. Unwillingly he joined his family aboard the Queen's Heart as they headed for London. His heart having been horribly broken when the young woman he had fallen madly in love with's family declined his request for her hand. Believing he would never again fall in love, sadly he took a turn about the ship, to escape his brothers attempts at cheering him up. When he literally collided with a beautiful young woman, by the name of Catherine Morgan-Carmichael.

Instantly struck by her incandescant beauty and bright chipper attitude, their relationship quickly evolved from friendship to love. And during the final days of the Journey he went to the Duke of Wilshire to request her hand. Disappointed at first as the Duke had explained that he could not make a decision at that time. Still he held out his hopes, and with the approval of his beloved, planned on telling the Duke of his and Catherine's Romantic activities if he was declined.
